The Minnesota Moose, proud members of the United States Premier Hockey League are excited to announce that 1998 Forward from Chicago, Illinois Gavin Proeh has committed to Anna Maria College for the fall of 2018! Anna Maria will be competing in its first year at the NCAA D3 level out of Paxton, Massachusetts.

Gavin Proeh came to the Minnesota Moose at the beginning of the season from the Austin Bruins in the NAHL after a short stint. In 2016-2017 Proeh played for the Northern Cyclones who the Moose beat in the National Tournament this year.

Gavin started the season as one of the top point getters in the USPHL and stayed near the top all season pocketing 54 points in 41 games during the regular season with 18 goals and 36 helpers. In playoffs Proeh had 6 assists in 8 playoff games. Gavin also led the Moose in Penalty Minutes with his physical play, ending the year with 131 penalty minutes.

Head Coach Jon Jonasson had this to say about Gavin Proeh committing to Anna Maria College, “Gavin came to us with one goal in mind and that was helping lead the Moose to the National Championship. With Gavin’s mindset and leadership he helped keep the team on track on and off the ice during the Moose inaugural season. I am extremely excited to see Gavin commit to a school next year where he will have an immediate impact.”

“First, I want to thank the coaches and management for making my last year of junior hockey one to remember, all my friends, and my teammates for supporting me and never giving up on my dream to play college hockey. But most of all I want to thank my parents for sacrificing a lot of time and money to be able to pursue what I love most and above all believing in me throughout this process. I can proudly say that I am committed to playing college hockey at Anna Maria. Thank you everyone for the endless support and for the love of the game.” From Gavin Proeh

Gavin Proeh is the seventh Moose player to commit to college this season, with more to come. The Minnesota Moose take pride in being one of the most premier programs in advancing players to the next level whether it be NCAA, ACHA, NAIA or Tier 2 juniors.
