Minnesota Moose Veteran Alex Church, a 2000 birth year F/D from Troy, Ohio has committed to play his next 4 years to Jamestown University an ACHA Division 1 program. Alex is the 3rd Moose in two years to commit to the powerhouse ACHA program Jamestown. Alex plans to join Jamestown a year after they made a run at a National Championship.

Alex Church spent 3 seasons playing for the Minnesota Moose 18’-21’, who play in the Midwest-West in the USPHL Premier. During Alex’s time with the Moose, he played both sides of the puck at defense and offense. While with the Minnesota Moose Alex helped win a Division Championship and assisted the team in making 3 trips to the National Tournament.

While with the Moose Church played in 97 regular season games, which is 3rd all time in the Moose for games played by any player in a Moose uniform. Church also played in 13 playoff games in his time with the Moose. In those 97 regular season games he notched 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points. He also added 1 goal and 2 assists in his playoff games. Church also had 70 PIM, he was never afraid to be a physical presence on the ice.

Head Coach and General Manager of the Moose had this to say about Alex Church and his time with the Moose, “Alex has bled the Moose colors and wore the Moose sweater with pride since day 1 of being in Blaine, MN. Alex is one of the more highly skilled players we have had in this program and at many times would be the best player on the ice for us. Alex was extremely coachable and very dedicated in being a great hockey player on and off the ice. When we look for players to wear a Moose jersey, we look for guys that demonstrate a strong character on and off the ice, at and away from the rink, and we also look for guys that will buy into the strong family and winning culture of the Moose. Alex has exceeded all of our expectations in being a strong asset for our program. I know that Jamestown is getting a great hockey player and even better human being, we couldn’t be more excited to see him continue his career for the next 4 years and receive a great education.”

Alex enjoyed his time and Minnesota and here is what he had to say about his experience, “Three years ago I made the decision to move out to Minnesota to play for the Moose, and it was a great decision. Not only have I developed and changed as a player, but I have grown and matured drastically as a person. The winning culture behind the Moose and the great group of kids they recruit every year is a huge reason I’ve continued to come back, I have met 25-30 brand new brothers each year, I have made some of my fondest memories and greatest relationships in the state of Minnesota through these last three years.  It has played a huge part into the person I am today. With that being said I would like to say Thank You to the Minnesota Moose organization, and to team owner Joe Dibble and Head Coach/ GM Jon Jonasson for giving me the opportunity to be a Moose and further my hockey career! Once a Moose, Always a Moose!

The Minnesota Moose, playing out of Blaine, Minn., have been one of the top teams in the USPHL Premier and Midwest-West for the last four seasons since their inception in 2017, with 70+ advancements, a 161-36-6 overall record since 2017, four straight trips to the National Tournament and two Division Championships.
