The Minnesota Moose, proud members of the USPHL are excited to announce the signing of 1997 Defenseman Nate Ackerman from Willmar, Minnesota. Last season Nate played for the Willmar Warhawks in the NA3HL. He posted 11 points in 41 games along with logging 41 PIM.

"Bringing in a player like Nate is important for the Moose this inaugural season due to his leadership skills and commitment to the game. Nate plays a game of patience on the back end with a ton of skill. He has the ability to play 200 feet and take over the game from the blue line." - Head Coach Jon Jonasson

Nate Ackerman had this to say about coming to the Moose. " What I am excited about most coming into this year is getting to come into Blaine and be in a new hockey setting outside of Willmar where I have played since I first started playing hockey. Fans can expect the team and I to be the most gritty hard working team out on the ice at all times wearing the opponents down. We will be able to police the ice and let other teams don't want to mess with us. Goals for the team this year I believe are to set up building blocks as this is our inaugural first season. First win a game, then sweep a weekend of games, win a showcase, win our division, and than win it all! Some may say this is a lofty goal but it think this fits the expectations that coach Jonasson has on all the players he has brought to the Moose."

As the Moose finalize their roster over the next week they will be announcing the rest of the teams roster through the end of August, building the excitement for a championship run in their inaugural season.

The Minnesota Moose play out of Fogerty Ice Arena in Blaine, MN. One of the top facilities for Junior Hockey in Minnesota. The Moose home opener at Fogerty Ice Arena  will be September 15th vs the Minnesota Mullets out of Forest Lake, MN.
