This past weekend the Minnesota Moose were in action with a home and home series against the Wisconsin Muskies. The Moose came in fresh off of a sweep of the Steele County Blades and were looking to keep it rolling against another rookie franchise in the Muskies.

The Moose would get to host the first game of the home and home series, welcoming the Muskies to Blaine for the first time this season. Jesse Anderson would get things off to a good start when he put the puck past starting goalie James Brendeland just 5:25 in, to give the Moose a quick lead. Things would fall apart quickly for the Moose as the Muskies would pile on three goals in just 1:18 at the end of the period. The Muskies would end up chasing starting goalie Kevin Hale from the game as back up Ben Belisle would end up starting the second period and finishing it out. Neither team could get on the board in the second period. The Moose badly outshot the Muskies, 17-4 in the period, but could not solve Brendeland. The Muskies would take a 4-1 lead early in the third period, but the Moose would not lay down. The Moose came back with two goals of their own to close the gap to one goal at 4-3. Another Muskies goal put it back to a two goal lead, but Jesse Anderson was able to answer again with his second goal of the game to bring it back to a one goal deficit with just five minutes left. The Moose would end up pulling Belisle late in the game for the extra attacker, but couldn't get that equalizer. The Moose would fall in an upset at home, 5-4, to the Muskies. James Brendeland stole the show stopping 52 of 56 shots.

The Moose would be looking for revenge, but had to travel to Spooner, Wisconsin to get it. The Muskies would send goalie James Brendeland out there again to see if he could steal another one. The Moose would counter by putting Jacob Fry in net. Things started quietly, with no one able to score in the games opening period. The Moose would get on the board in the second period with goals from Riley Keays and Nate Ackerman. Those two periods would prove to be the calm before the storm. The third period brought chaos, goals and penalties galore. 13 penalties between the two teams in the third period alone marred what was a dominant period for the Moose. Jesse Anderson had another multi-goal game and Philip De Saava and Matteo Menotti added goals as well to propel the Moose to a 6-0 win. The Moose went 3 for 6 on the power play to help their cause. Jacob Fry got the win and the shutout as he stopped all 29 shots he saw. Losing goaltender James Brendeland stopped 46 shots.

The Moose will be away from home for a month plus. They travel to Hudson to battle the Havoc on December 8th and 9th and then a quick trip to Forest lake to take on the Mullets on the 15th.

Happy Holidays everyone!
