The Minnesota Moose proud members of the United States Premier Hockey League are excited to announce their first of many college commitments. Moose Captain and  stand out 1997 forward and leading scorer Dylan Gast has committed to play college hockey with Gustavus Adolphus College a NCAA D3 for the next 4 years.

Dylan currently leads the Minnesota Moose with 65 points (27g and 38a) with one game remaining in the regular season. Gast also has 40 penalty minutes, 4 game winning goals and 15 points on the power play. Dylan has played many roles with the Moose from top line, power play and a regular penalty killer.

“We were fortunate to have a player like Dylan play with the Moose in our inaugural season. When we are recruiting, and looking to build a new team we looked for players with high level of character on and off the ice, Dylan has that and more. Everyday this season Gast has shown up and exceeded any expectations we have had for him on and off the ice. I am very proud to have had a chance to work with Dylan and excited to know a player like him has set the bench mark for future players to wear a Minnesota Moose sweater. He will be very successful with whatever he does beyond this season and Gustavus seems to be a perfect fit for him.” Stated by Minnesota Moose Head Coach and GM Jon Jonasson.

Dylan Gast had this to say about his commitment, “I am excited to have made my decision to play college hockey for Gustavus Adolphus next year. I want to thank my family, friends, coaches and the Minnesota Moose who have supported me along the way. I appreciate everything they have done for me. I am looking forward to what the future will bring.”

Dylan plans to study something in the medical field or engineering while attending Gustavus Adolphus.

Dylan is the first NCAA commitment for the Minnesota Moose in the history of its program. The Moose are currently in their first season within the USPHL posting a 36-5-2 record and won the Regular Season Title in the USPHL Midwest- West Division. The Moose hold the 2nd best record in all the USPHL and are looking to make a run at the USPHL Premier league championship.
