The Minnesota Moose wrapped up the regular season last Friday night with a final home game against the Hudson Havoc. The game was meaningless, in that,  the Moose had already clinched the number one seed and the Havoc could not make the playoffs. So we all hoped for a clean, injury-free game.

The Moose gave Bronson Moore the start in net, while the Havoc countered with Cal Ambrose. Neither would end up finishing the game, in what turned out to be a wild affair. Hudson actually started it off with a soft goal to take an early 1-0 lead. Things changed rapidly after coincidental minors were called, making it four on four. The Moose exploded for three goals in 1:09, all on the four on four, to take a 3-1 lead. Jake Harding added a goal near the end of the period, to give the Moose a 4-1 lead going into the first intermission.

The Moose kept their train rolling with two more goals to start out the second period. Phillip De Saava and Jesse Anderson got the goals to give the Moose six straight unanswered goals and also chased Ambrose from the game. Hudson coach Brett Wall went to his other option in net, Lane Gregory, to try and stop the bleeding. The changed worked at first, as Hudson scored on a power play and then again a little over two minutes later to close the gap to 6-3 before the intermission. That last goal also chased Moore from the game,  as head coach Jon Jonasson would turn to  his back up, Jacob Fry.

To start the third period, Case Moioffer scored his second goal of the game for Hudson,  shorthanded, to draw the Havoc within two goals. The Moose would take control from there on out, scoring three unanswered goals to finish out the game. Two Matteo Menotti goals and a Jake Peterson power play goal would seal it up for the Moose. The Moose will now look forward to the playoffs after finishing the season with 11 straight wins.

The Moose found out their opponent in the first round will be the Dells Ducks, who finished in eighth place this season with a record of 15-26-3. The Moose have beaten the Ducks all four times they have played each other including three shutouts. Game one will be Friday the 23rd at 7:10 PM in Blaine and the same for game two on Saturday at Fogerty Ice Arena.

We will see you there for the first playoff game in Moose franchise history!
