The Minnesota Moose, proud members of the USPHL are excited to announce another player committing to an NCAA program. Moose captain and 1997 forward Riley Keays from Brookfield, Wisconsin has committed to play the next 4 years of hockey at Becker College. Becker College is out of the Boston surrounding area.

Last year Riley took a year off from hockey and chose to come back this year and dug his feet in the sand and has had an extremely successful last season of junior hockey with the Minnesota Moose. Riley averaged over a point a game in regular season with 41 points in 38 games, which included 16 goals and 25 assists. 14 of those points came on the power play for Riley, 6 power play goals and 8 power play assists.

From coach Jon Jonasson, “I have been fortunate enough to coach Riley now for 2 years and it has been exciting watching him progress over the time and turn into a 200-foot center. Riley plays with a very high IQ on the ice which always puts him a step ahead of the opposition with and without the puck. We are very happy to see Riley pick a school for the next four years that believes that he will be a good fit for their program.”

From Becker Assistant coach Dale Adams, “We’re thrilled and excited that Riley has chosen Becker College to continue his hockey career as a student-athlete. The Minnesota Moose program, coaching staff, and the USPHL premier deserve all the credit in preparing him for the next level and we are looking forward to seeing what Riley can do for us next season.

From Riley Keays, “I am excited to have made my decision to play for Becker College next year. I can’t thank my family, friends, coaches and the Minnesota Moose program enough for all they have done for me. I am glad I chose the Moose this season and appreciate everything that came with that decision. I look forward to my next four years on the east coast!”

At Becker College Riley plans to study Business Management for the next 4 years while being a student athlete.
