The Minnesota Moose, proud members of the USPHL Premier Midwest-West division are excited to announce the advancement of 1998 Forward Matej Krasny from Pilzen, Czech Republic! Krasny has committed his next for years to Indiana Tech a NAIA and ACHA D1 school based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Krasny was an offensive threat every time he stepped on the ice for the Moose this season. Matej had a total of 56 points after playoffs in 52 games played. Which included 29 goals and 27 assists! Krasny also had 10 game winners including the game winner in the first national tournament game over the Northern Cyclones, he also posted a very impressive +63 on the season.

“Krasny came to the Moose with high expectations of himself this season and he met those because of his work ethic and passion for the game. As a coaching staff, coach Mendenhall and myself are very lucky to have had Krasny wear a Moose sweater for our inaugural season. He might not have had a letter on his chest this season, but there was no mistaking that he was a leader by example on and off the ice. We could put Krasny on the ice in every big moment throughout the season and knew with him on the ice we had a chance to win. I wish Matej the best of luck at Indiana Tech, I know he will be very successful at the collegiate level and Indiana Tech is getting a very talented hockey player and special person!” Stated by Coach Jon Jonasson

Matej Krasny had this to say about his commitment to Indiana Tech, “I am excited that I made my decision to play college hockey for Indiana Tech. I can’t thank my parents enough who 3 years ago allowed me to leave the Czech Republic and go study and play hockey in the USA. I want to also thank all my teammates, coaches and the whole Minnesota Moose program, without the Moose I wouldn’t be where I am at right now. Biggest thanks goes to Coach Jonasson who coached me the last 2 years and has a huge credit on my commitment and development. Following him to the Minnesota Moose program was the best decision I could have made. I am really looking forward to see what I can do at the collegiate level and what the future holds for me, GO MOOSE and WARRIORS!

Krasny is the 3rd commitment for the Minnesota Moose with at least 5 more to come before summer begins as our veterans narrow down their options.
