The Minnesota Moose proud members of the United States Premier Hockey League are excited to announce that 1997 Goaltender from Tri Cities, Washington Bronson Moore has committed to Arizona State University for the fall of 2018! ASU is a ACHA Division 1 program and one of the top ACHA teams in the country, with recently winning a national championship in 2014.
When looking for success, a good program needs to build from the pipes out and with Bronson in net the Moose could do just that. Moore came to the Moose from the NA3HL right after Christmas to join the Moose in his last season of junior hockey, with the hopes of earning an opportunity to go play college hockey. After Bronson’s first showcase in Boston he saw himself with offers to play NCAA D3 by 5 different schools and finished the season with even more offers.
Bronson was a stud between the pipes for the Moose from January 1st through the National tournament. He posted 17 wins and only 2 losses with a league leading overall .933 save percentage and 1.97 gaa. During regular season play Bronson was the best in the country with a .952 save percentage and was undefeated 11-0 with the Moose. Bronson holds the tier 3 record for both save percentage and goals against average from his spectacular 3 year junior career.
Head Coach Jon Jonasson had this to say about Bronson Moore committing to ASU, “I have had the pleasure to coach Bronson for a year in a half and can’t think of a player more deserving of a college commitment than Bronson. As a coach, you look for players that have a high level of character, strong work ethic on and off the ice, and an unmatchable compete level. Bronson had all the tools that a program needs to be successful, on top of that within 1 game of being with the Moose he already knew everyone’s name in the locker room and was bought in to the Moose. I wish Bronson great success at ASU and know that he will be a very huge asset to the Sun Devil Hockey Program.”
“I’m excited about furthering my education at Arizona State University and making an impact at the college hockey level. I cant thank my family, coaches, and teammates enough for all the support over the years. I have always thrived off a winning culture and I believe I found that with ASU. With their last National Championship coming in 2014, I look forward to making a push for another one.” From Bronson Moore
Bronson Moore is the sixth Moose player to commit to college this season, with more to come. The Minnesota Moose take pride in being one of the most premier programs in advancing players to the next level whether it be NCAA, ACHA, NAIA or Tier 2 juniors.
