By Moose PR, 06/05/18, 2:00PM EDT

The Minnesota Moose, proud members of the United States Premier Hockey League are excited to announce that Matteo Menotti a Chicago, IL native, has signed a NAHL Tender for the Maryland Blackbears. The Moose had 8 players practice or play with NAHL teams throughout the 2017-2018 season and Menotti is the first of Moose players to sign with a NAHL team.

Menotti started the 2017-2018 season with stints with the Odessa Jackalopes and Minnesota Wilderness before joining the Moose. With the Moose he was an offensive threat and learned to play a big role. With the Moose Menotti netted 31 goals and had 25 helpers for a total of 56 points in 37 games played.

“We are extremely excited for Matteo to sign a tender with the Blackbears. After Menotti came to the Moose last season his goal was to become a 200 foot player. We knew that once Menotti began to play all 200 ft on the ice he would be an impact player at any level. We wish Matteo the best of luck next season and expect him to be an impact player for the Blackbears immediately.” From Head Coach/ GM Jon Jonasson

“I first want to thank the Minnesota Moose organization for giving me a great home last year, along with my former coaches, friends and family for always supporting me up to this moment in signing with Maryland.  It’s been a long journey and I definitely think everyone has a different path for their hockey career and I am enjoying the path that has been chosen for myself.” From Matteo Menotti

Matteo Menotti is the ninth Moose player to commit to the next level this season, with more to come. The Minnesota Moose take pride in being one of the most premier programs in advancing players to the next level whether it be NCAA, ACHA, NAIA or Tier 2 juniors.
